04 - 07 We saw the first Gekkabijin. Alongside with a slew of other reels launched to specific purposes such as the Emeraldas and also the Presso. The petite bodied Gekkabijin was so compact and great it went on to the next generation Zaion bodied '09 Gekkabijin Infeet. With a whole suite of rods, lures, lines, accesories for UltraLight Rockfishing, the higher priced reel was introduced with a new little brother - the MX 2004.

Another batch of reels from Japan arrived yesterday! Woot,... it is open season in Japan with Autumn coming, stock availability will be rather slow due to the high demand in Japan & Korea, but Tigris still manage to get our hands on this. Ito Engineering version of Daiwa T3... the FX68L. Pure engineering ingenuity on the T-Wing system to lay the lines and the flaps helps with the low line profiling to reduce bird nest. MagForce 3D is another quick click on the bottom to set the distance and targeted areas.

Daiwa Alphas Finesse Custom 105HL

New generation Alphas by Daiwa up for sale, most reviews has good appraisal for this reel mainly due to the shallow spool application. It does cast better with lighter weight lures compare to the deep normal application spool on the infamous dual Purple Alphas 103. Japanese engineers at Daiwa raise the ante on the gears to 6.8 on this sweet reel making it more suitable for finesse luring. Time to buy  some small jigs and micro lures to cast with this new gen Alphas.
